Animarkt Stop Motion Forum, hosted by Momakin, has revealed 22 finalists from around the world for its prestigious stop-motion project pitch competition. The finalists are split into two categories: short films and feature films/TV series. These projects will compete for top honors during the Forum, which takes place from October 13-17 in Łódź, Poland.
The pitching competition provides a unique platform for emerging stop-motion filmmakers to showcase their unproduced projects to a panel of renowned industry experts, producers, and representatives from leading production studios. Finalists stand the chance to form valuable partnerships and win prizes that could propel their projects into full production and unlock new international opportunities.
This year, the Forum received 80 submissions from 33 countries, including India, the U.S., and Chile. Of the 22 finalists selected, 21 have confirmed their participation. Ahead of their presentations, the creators will receive specialized training in pitching, screenplay development, presentation techniques, and green production practices to enhance their chances of success.
The competition is divided into two categories, each featuring 11 projects. The first category includes short films in development, under 25 minutes in length, with a completed first draft of the screenplay. The second category is for feature films, TV series, or specials at various stages of development. In both categories, at least 80% of the animation must be produced using stop-motion techniques. Additionally, all entries were required to include a sustainable production plan, which factors into the project’s evaluation.
